The Avengers (2012) review
I have to say The Avengers isn’t a good movie; it’s a GREAT MOVIE!!!! It’s not only the best team superhero movie ever made, but it may just be the best comic book adaption made period! The Avengers is the culmination of what began in Iron Man; and continued through The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man [...]
American Reunion (2012) – review
In July of 1999 audiences were introduced to American Pie, a movie that showcased the sexual frustrations of Jim (Jason Biggs), Oz (Christopher Klein), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas); the four friends make a pact to lose their virginity by their Senior Prom. The breakout star of the film was Stifler, [...]
The Hunger Games (2012) – review
Unless you’ve been living in a cave or hiding under a rock, the newest film franchise to be based on a series of books is The Hunger Games. The trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins, has been read by millions around the world, so anticipation and expectations for the film have been high. The Hunger Games [...]
Silent House (2012) – review
Silent House, directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, the pair behind the thrilling film Open Water, is a remake of the 2010 Uruguayan film La Casa Muda. The story centers on a young woman, her father and her uncle working together cleaning out and repairing an old lakeside family cabin; in the process ending [...]
Safe House (2012) – review
2012 has started off with some fairly enjoyable action films, such as Contraband, Red Tails, Chronicle and The Grey; and we’re only 6 weeks into the year! Safe House, the new film starring Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds, continues the hot streak Hollywood has been on.
Box Office Predictions (5/18/2012 – 5/20/2012)
Hit and Run Trailer #1 (8/24/2012 release date)
Dax Shepard, known for his role-playing in Ashton Kutcher’s MTV show Punk’d, stars in Hit and Run; a film that he wrote the screenplay for. Based on his history, I’d expect Dax to be partial to comedies. Surprisingly, I’d have thought Bradley Cooper would have moved on from these types of films, considering how terrible All About Steve was and how Limitless was so successful, I’d have thought he’d stick with the dramatic, action style roles; alas, that wasn’t the road Cooper took. The lone bright spot is seeing the beautiful Kristen Bell. Maybe it’s just me, but based on this trailer..Hit and Run should have been left for dead.
Bait 3D Trailer #1 (7/6/2012 release date)
I’ve become a fan of the cheesiness that is 3D horror; films like Pirahna 3D (I can’t wait for Pirahna 3DD) and Shark Knight 3D were so bad they were impossible not to find funny. Bait 3D, which looks to be nothing more than Deep Blue Sea in a shopping mall, is the newest 3D horror film to head our way, and I’m already excited to see it. I mean c’mon now, it’s got great white sharks and hot girls…sounds like a winner to me!
End of Watch Trailer #1 (9/28/2012 release date)
David Ayer has established himself as a go to guy for gritty dramas based in Los Angeles, whether it be something he’s written (Training Day and S.W.A.T.) or something he’s directed (Harsh Times and Street Kings). Ayer’s newest directorial effort, End of Watch, falls right in line.
I’ve got to say, I really think Jake Gyllenhaal excels in the grittier roles and from what we see in the End of Watch trailer that perception seems to be reinforce. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of this one.
The Amazing Spider-Man 4-Minute Super Preview (7/3/2012 release date)
I’ve got to tell you, if there was any hesitation in going to see The Amazing Spider-Man and whether it was going to be that good….after viewing this trailer, I have no doubt whatsoever; this movie is going to be really, REALLY good!!
